Choosing a Swiss solution

The remote support market is dominated by large foreign players. Here are the concrete criteria — beyond the flag — for comparing offers.

Where does your data go?

A remote support tool sees screens, files and sometimes passwords. The first question to ask a provider: where are the servers hosted, and which law applies there? Hosting in Switzerland places that data under Swiss law and the FADP (see the guide Remote maintenance hosted in Switzerland).

How is the price calculated?

Two models coexist: billing per supported machine, or billing per technician. For an SME managing many machines with few technicians, the per-technician plan can be more cost-effective. At FlowLINE: CHF 19, 29 or 39 per month per technician depending on the plan, with no commitment.

Who do your clients see?

When a technician connects, the supported machine shows the identity of the tool. Some providers impose their brand; others let you display yours. If client experience matters to you, check this point: at FlowLINE, the Standard and Enterprise plans display your logo and your technicians' names.

The other criteria

End-to-end encryption (the relay server cannot read the content), mandatory two-factor authentication for technician accounts, Windows, macOS, Linux and Android compatibility, session logging, cancellation terms. Ask for precise answers, not slogans.

Key point: “Swiss” alone is not enough as a criterion — check where the servers are, how the price is calculated and what is encrypted. The rest is a question of needs.
